In a consultative model of service, the BCBA will meet on a regular basis with a parent, caregiver, or teacher. Frequency of meetings will depend on the level of need or client progress.

BCBA will

  • conduct initial assessments and evaluations

  • establish specific goals and targets with parent, caregiver, or teacher

  • provide training and support to individuals who will implement behavioral strategies with client on a regular basis

In this model, the parent, caregiver, or teacher will

  • collect data outside of consult sessions to monitor progress

  • implement behavioral strategies in the home, community, or school setting

  • collaborate with BCBA to develop or modify behavioral strategies that can be implemented consistently in the target environment/situation to produce the most significant change in behavior
